Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Islamic Economics and Governance welcomes original scholarly contributions in the form of research articles, research notes, review articles, comments, rejoinders, and book reviews.


Manuscript Length

  • Research Articles: 4,500–6,000 words (excluding references)


Manuscript Preparation

  1. Title Page
    The first page of the manuscript must include:

    • Title of the paper

    • Name(s) of author(s)

    • Current institutional affiliation(s)

    • Contact details of the corresponding author

  2. Abstract and Keywords
    Each submission must include:

    • An abstract of 150–250 words summarizing the study

    • A maximum of six keywords and/or relevant JEL Classification Codes

  3. Structure of the Article
    The main body of the manuscript should normally include the following sections:

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review

    • Research Methodology

    • Data Analysis and Discussion

    • Conclusion

    Alternative structures may be considered where appropriate for conceptual or theoretical contributions.

  4. Referencing Style
    Title, abstract, body text, citations, and references must follow APA 6th edition style.

  5. Footnotes
    Footnotes, if necessary, should be used sparingly and numbered sequentially.

  6. Tables and Figures

    • Tables must be numbered sequentially and referenced in the text.

    • Each table should include a clear and descriptive title.

    • The source of the table, if applicable, must be provided in a footnote immediately below the table.

  7. Appendices
    Appendices, if included, should be numbered sequentially and placed after the references.


Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. If reviewers identify the manuscript as potentially contributory but recommend revisions, authors are required to:

  • Revise the manuscript accordingly

  • Resubmit the revised version

  • Provide a detailed, point-by-point response addressing all reviewer comments

Acceptance is subject to satisfactory revision and final editorial approval.


Additional Information

  • IJIEG is published bi-annually.

  • Each author will receive one complimentary copy of the published issue.

Authors are encouraged to ensure clarity, academic rigor, and adherence to journal guidelines prior to submission to facilitate an efficient review process.

Articles

This section publishes original research and review articles that demonstrate significant scholarly contribution and are subject to double-blind peer review.
