Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Islamic Economics and Governance (IJIEG) follows the HEC anti-plagiarism framework and considers plagiarism in any form a serious violation of academic integrity. All submissions are screened using an electronic similarity-checking system (e.g., Turnitin), and similarity reports are assessed through editorial and subject-based judgment, as the similarity index serves as an indicator rather than a standalone verdict.
In line with HEC guidance, manuscripts are evaluated carefully where similarity is elevated; as a general benchmark, a similarity index above 19% may lead to rejection or conditional editorial handling, and the findings/conclusion sections are treated more strictly (typically not exceeding 9%), with attention also given to high matches from any single source (for example, 5% or more).
If plagiarism is suspected or confirmed at any stage, IJIEG may take appropriate action, including desk rejection, requesting correction with proper citation, or initiating formal review under applicable procedures. IJIEG also reserves the right to retract a published article if plagiarism or unethical overlap is discovered after acceptance or publication, and may issue a correction notice or retraction statement in accordance with journal and HEC ethics policies.
