Sheikh Ahmed “Mullah Jeevan” his Academic and Professional Life

Abstract

The Pakistani and Indian subcontinent played a vital role in serving Islam across various domains, including Quranic studies, Hadith, and jurisprudence. Sheikh Ahmed bin Abi Saeed bin Ubaidullah, known as Mullah Jeevan, was a notable scholar, Mufassir, Muhaddith, and jurist. Born in 1047 AH in Amaithi near Lucknow, India, he was raised in a scholarly environment. Sheikh Jeevan, a follower of the Hanafi school of thought, excelled in his studies and teachings. His influential students included Mughal king Aurangzeb Alamgir and Mufti Tabee Muhammad Al-Lakhnawi. He authored renowned works like "Noor Al-Anwar fi Sharh Al-Manar" and "Al Tafseerat Al-Ahmadiyya fi bayan Al Ayat Al Sharea." Sheikh Jeevan passed away in 1130 AH in Delhi and was buried in Amaithi. Academic research on his life and contributions is essential for extracting valuable insights.
